An-Honest-Days-Work

This painting depicts the pride of the Hawaiian people in their taro patches.
The farmers used to trade taro with the fisherman. The amakua in the
background is Lono, god of harvest. Here, in the man’s hand,
is the keiki (baby plant) to be replanted and the fish represents the trade
that has happened. It is about the cycle of life.
